ok... several years ago there was a show on
some educational channel that presented some
interesting 'facts' about babies and shit.
these published 'facts' ran along the lines
of some things i had already discovered myself,
so it only added some support to what i had
been putting together on my own.
anyways...
they stated that at birth... and several
months following (birth) all babies resemble
the father. this was proposed to be an
evolutionary 'safety net' that began during
the break of humans in regards to their
rational/thought processes... away from
'lesser' base animalisms.
in short --
a baby will resemble the father at birth
and for some time thereafter for the main
reason of allowing the biological father
to recognize its young.
though humans began to become more social
and civilized... there were still animalisms
such as a 'pride' or 'pack' behavior...
in which females (after coming into 'heat')
circulated amongst many capable males...
yet due to the new surge of 'nurturing'
through 'family'... the males genuinely
only preferred to care or provide for their
own (which is sometimes accredited to
larger primates).... which brings this
thread full circle -- in which the human
babies mostly resembled their fathers
so that their fathers could easily identify
their offspring and not waste precious
resources on 'non-young'.
i find this trait to be most apparent in
the first born... in which it seems that
most of the 'fathers' genetic traits are
more proficient than the mothers.
the females get their due as well...
causing a surge of the mother genes into
the second born... (which is why its more
easy to distinguish whom is the elder and
whom is the younger when viewing images
of siblings).
(now this is not to state that the first
born does not have any of its mother's traits,
but moreso that it contains more of the
father's traits)
but we are talking about all babies within
a few months of birth....
anyone else have any thoughts on this?

i'm not sure as a baby, but as an adult i have more of the traits of the family at my mothers' side of the family. My younger brother after me resembles my father more.

as i expected, you have all wandered off from
what i established. the hypothesis was in reference
to 'just born and a few months after birth'....
not at 20+ years old.
keep up.
now unless you want to provide a lovely pic
of you as a newborn surrounded by your loving
parents (at the same time)... then i don't
see how what you said applied to what i said.
when i was born... and up until i was about 12,
i resembled my father. only recently have i begun
to resemble more of my mother (though it can
be said that i have both attributes, even as
an earlier stage).
i had thought about posting some pics of myself
and my parents... but since i only have one pic
of each... it would be difficult.
i dunno... i still may. even despite the intuitional
prompt telling me its futile. *shrugs*

Well, i see your point shatzy, it's just that i don't have a lot of reference to the way i looked when i was a baby, seeing how i was a baby. And the few pics i've seen don't really seem to be significantly more resembling to my father than to my mother.
And if i had a scanner and a nice baby pic i would definately scan it!
